For the past 9 years I've had the pleasure of working with some great customers, many who have become friends. Me and my staff have supported the cycling and triathlon communities in the area with different clinics, the time trial series, Tour of California viewing party and other events.
By running the store I have helped customers achieve their athletic goals, finish college, start companies and many other milestones.
Operating a small business has required a lot of time, often 6+ days a week and close to 60 hours a week, so I have missed quite a few weddings and birthdays of friends as a result. After getting married towards the end of 2010 it was time to make a change. Instead of fine tuning a bike fit, lacing up a perfect set of wheels, finding the annoying sound on a customer's bike or regularly stay until 12am to get all the bikes/wheels ready for everyone's "A" race it became more important to spend additional time with my wife (Kate) and not be the phantom husband. I'm looking forward to some new adventures, this weekend thing that customers keep raving about, and trying to get The Dog (aka Lefty or Lazy) to run.
Most people will probably see me at triathlons, running events, and possibly some bike races in the future. I will be moving to Sacramento where my wife lives.
Thanks for being a customer, Front of the Pack is now closed permanently.
