Front of the Pack has a dedicated bike fit section of the store.  Using the methods taught by Dan Empfield both Darrell and Greg use the Fit Institute of Slowtwitch (FIST) method of performing bike fits.  Bike fits are done by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance.  The average length of time for a bike fit is 2 1/2 hours but has taken as long as 4 1/2 hours.

During the fitting process either Darrell or Greg will guide you, the rider, into your optimal fit. To do this we go through various effective seat tube angles, adjust the reach of the handlebars, saddle height, and also the amount of drop from the saddle to the top of the handlebars. Based on feedback from you we try to put you in a comfortable, powerful and aerodynamic position.  Depending on your goals and specifc sports (triathlon vs. road racing) we will fine tune your position on the bike.

This is done on  a completely adjustable fit bike hooked up with a CompuTrainer, variable length crankarms, multitudes of handlebars, aerobar extensions and saddles.  The Exit Fit Bike is suitable for riders ranging in height of 4'10 up to 6'8.

A complete fit means that we will look at the results of your fit and go over various bike options that will fit your riding position the best.  We will even recommend bikes that we don't carry.  The other common type of fit is to optimize the position on your existing bike.  In this situation we would take a few basic measurements off of your bike so that the fit will stay within the constraints of the bike you own.  Either way, it's up to you.  we can perform fits for both road, mountain and triathlon bikes.

Schedule your fit by calling the store at 650.804.6680. The cost for one bike fit is $200 and $100 for a second bike.  In addition we will work with you for the next 6 months to ensure that you are comfortable in your new position.
